Why I need to lose it

First post on my blog to keep track of my efforts to get healthy again. I'm in the category of obesity called "morbid" and for the past couple of years have found it harder to do many activities. This will be a place to keep accounts of my progress or setbacks. I'll post what I eat and for the first month at least I'll post my measurements. After that I want to get one of those scales that show you the weight lost but not your current weight. This in an effort to not become too discouraged at the beginning. Last fall I stuck with a diet designed to lower blood pressure and cholesterol and within a few weeks I felt much better so I'll keep that in mind. My diet will be a mixture of the DASH diet, South Beach diet and Mediterranean diet. They are all heart healthy and there are a lot of recipes and menus available. So tonight, fish and asparagus on the menu.
